GROUP STORYTELLING CLASS FOR AGES 8-10, 11-13 & 14-16

A playful, dynamic group experience to connect and cheer young people during social distancing time. This live group class will meet weekly for 6 sessions with 3-6 students, and will include fun, creative group games and the camaraderie of an ensemble. Class includes manageable weekly story assignments, personal coaching from me, and feedback from the group. As close as can be to live youth & teen storytelling classes designed for K-12 students at The University of Chicago Lab School, The Second City, Presidio Hill School, and the Summer Institute for the Gifted at UC Berkeley, this class is a joy. Students will play with good storytelling elements of sensory detail and descriptive language, story structure, character, comedy, stakes and tension. We will meet via Zoom, no membership required-- just click a link for an easy-to-use experience. Class is 2 hours long, at a recurring time determined by parent poll.

PRIVATE STORYTELLING LESSONS for Youth & Teens

Great for young people who benefit from more attention and a personalized learning experience. In this form, I meet with students one-on-one for one hour, weekly or bi-weekly at a regular time that works for your schedule. At a pace and with tools to match their stage of learning, students will play with games and exercises that teach good storytelling elements of sensory detail and descriptive language, story structure, character, comedy, stakes and tension. Students will complete short assignments between sessions, and get personal feedback at each meeting. This course is taught over Zoom with no membership required. ONLINE IMPROV CLASSES FOR GROUPS 10-12 & 13-15!

Take an improv class online! Meet once a week-- or, once-per-day during a week!-- for a playful, dynamic group experience designed to generate laughs and joy for young people during social distancing time. This live group class will meet with 3-10 students, and will include playful, creative group games, the camaraderie of an ensemble, and lots of opportunities to laugh. Class will teach the fundamentals of comedic improvisation, including Ensemble Work, Yes-And, Exploring & Heightening, Editing, and Character work. Everything is taught through play, and it's a great ride. As close as can be to live youth & teen Improv classes designed for K-12 students at The University of Chicago Lab School, The Second City, Presidio Hill School, and the Summer Institute for the Gifted at UC Berkeley, this class is a joy. Class is 2-hours long at a time TBD by parent poll.
