Improv & Storytelling Workshops for organizations

Uniquely tailored workshops create rapid change for organizations. Storytelling and Improv both naturally improve trust, respect, communication, and collaboration. Empathy and Conversational Turn-Taking are elements recognized in recent studies by Google as being required for Psychological Safety (a condition that allows groups to be collaborative, productive and innovative). Improv and Storytelling are designed for these purposes. As a 17-year teacher of both subjects, I have a unique set of skills that benefit groups. Unlike some professional development strategies, this work doesn't feel like "work". It strengthens creative and interpersonal skills through playful games followed by reflection. Improv and Storytelling workshops are dynamic, fun, relaxing and inspiring. Time flies, and at the end of sessions groups feel like their goals were accomplished.

Normally, workshops can be offered onsite or offsite, to teams, departments or entire companies. Usually, workshops range from half-a-day to 3 days in length, or the work can be integrated into summits or retreats. During social distancing and remote working, workshops are conducted online over Zoom, and last from 1-3 hours, or can be spread out over a period of days or weeks.

We begin with a no-cost phone consult where I learn about your goals and we ask each other questions. If things feel like a fit, I will craft a proposal and quote for your review, based on your parameters of time, budget, and group size.

Here are some areas in which workshops bring about change:

Within an organization

  • Strengthen genuine warm regard, trust, and respect among colleagues
  • Improve communication between departments, or various levels of administration
  • Foster innovative, creative and productive output from creative teams and groups
  • Ignite individual creativity, initiative and confidence
  • Create an inclusive, welcoming climate through joyful play
Outward Facing
  • Improve listening, empathy and communication with clients and served populations
  • Strengthen skill and confidence in public speaking
  • Clarify your organization's motivations, and bring brand identity into alignment with your values
  • Use narrative skills to elevate talks, content writing, and pitching
